FAMILLE RAILWORKS:
RailWorks completed a three-phase, $3 million project to remove and replace track and turnouts and a crossing on and around the Fort Drum Army Base in Watertown, N.Y.
The majority of work was performed on Fort Drum. Rail was brought in on flat cars in 80' lengths and unloaded by an on-track Badger and Pettibone speed swing. A crew comprised of an average of 15 employees completed work over a seven-month period.
RailWorks removed and replaced a total of 28,700 feet of track, 1,510 ties and 11 turnouts. They installed three derails and one 100-foot concrete crossing.
